Bank Reconciliation - Bank Flows - added manually - add field date/time + creator

We automatically download and import bank statements. However, there are occasional instances where a Bank Flow needs to be created manually, typically due to value date corrections or when the bank reports a charge or fee on a non-business day for a specific currency. In such cases, we manually create two Bank Flows—one to offset the original value date from the bank and another for the adjusted value date.

Since there is no approval workflow for Bank Flows in Quantum, we addressed an audit finding by developing a custom report that lists all manually created Bank Flows for daily or monthly review. However, what's missing is the creation date/time and the user who created the Bank Flow in the database.

We, therefore, recommend adding a "created date" and "created by" field for Bank Flows. I was surprised to learn from our FIS consultant that this functionality is currently unavailable, even in the latest version (2024.03). From an audit perspective, these fields are essential.

Hello! What you are asking for can already be accomplished with existing functionality.

You can get the Date and the User who added the manual bank flow and you can use Calculated Columns/Expressions to force the Time to be displayed.

In the bank flow view you can add the ‘Imported User’ column and the ‘Load Date’ column and that will show the correct details even if a user manually creates a bank flow:

In the above example I manually saved a bflow and I was logged on as ‘baseline’. The ‘Imported User’ is correct and the ‘Load Date’ is correct. I added 2 calculated columns for ‘Load Time’ and ‘Load Date And Time Combo’:

Also, in version 2024.2 we added a bank flows datasource to EWF:

This datasource also contains the data you are interested in:

    Thanks!
